Natural Beekeeping evening classes 2012There will be two parallel classes again this year, at Schumacher College (mainly for Horticulture students) and at Birdwood House, Totnes. Dates and booking info as follows:
Schumacher College
Wednesdays, starting Feb 1, 4.30-6pm (Feb 1, 8, 22, 29 and March 7 & 14) (To book, see Anna Searle or Lou Rainbow)
Birdwood House
Thursdays, starting Feb 2, 7.30-9pm (Feb 2, 9, 23 and March 1, 8 & 15) This class will be limited to 18 people, so book now to avoid disappointment. evening classes in South Devon2012The Art and Craft of Natural Beekeepingfor novices/beginnersThis course is an opportunity to learn the basics about 'natural beekeeping' in top bar hives. This is a simple, practical way to have healthy and happy bees in your garden, with the possibility of your own honey harvest, but without the cost and complications associated with conventional beekeeping. This beginners' course is intended for people with no previous knowledge of bees or beekeeping, and will provide you with all the information you need to decide if, when and how you will take up 'natural beekeeping'. We will discuss:
If possible - weather permitting - we will spend some time with bees in a top bar hive, so please bring suitable clothing; at least a hat and veil, or a beekeeping suit if you prefer. 2012 venues:
