    Howdy all,

I posted essentially the same post over at BeeSource.com earlier today. So if you're dabbling in both forums you'll be hearing a repeat. For the rest of you:

As soon as I was struck by the beekeeping "bug" I began researching on the internet, in books and magazines in an attempt to acquire as much knowledge as possible about bees and beekeeping. However, as I grew in knowledge I found that many of the informative "gems" were buried in the dark recesses of the internet. So I began bookmarking and categorizing for my own benefit.

Over the past couple months I've met numerous individuals interested in learning about beekeeping who have had no idea where to find useful information. I've pointed them to Bee Source, Bio Bees and numerous other sites, but many aren't looking for a forum, but some sort of one stop bee information site. For this reason I decided to divulge the links, books and other resources that have been useful to me in the form of a comprehensive, searchable directory at http://www.beethinking.com .

My goal is to get the bee community connected and involved in updating the site with quality resources that will benefit beekeepers around the world. The more informed we are the better-suited we will be to work with bees and each other, and ensure that we are a viable force in the 21st century.

The site is definitely a work in progress, and I have dozens of other links and other resources to add, but I figured I'd get the input of you all early on to make sure the project moves in the right direction!

If you have a link, book, suggestion or criticism, please let me know either here or on Bee Thinking. If you'd like to submit your own links, whatever they are, you can do so by joining the site here: http://www.beethinking.com/Create-an-account/ and then logging onto the site and going to the following location: http://www.beethinking.com/Submit-a-Link/

The more community involvement the better the site will be. If you've got a link, no matter how lacking you might think it is, I'd love to see it! Also, if you've got an article, news update or some other content, please share.

    Best regards,
    Matt

    Good job, Matt!
I had thought to take this on myself at one time, but I quickly realized that I was already busy enough - so I'm glad you are doing it.

I had his site bookmarked early in my scouring of the web for useful information. I simply added all of my bookmarks. If, for some reason, his site is questionable please let me know in a PM!

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hah!

By the way, Hirschbach and Norm are on the site already! However, Hirschbach was titled Top Bar Beekeeping at Hirschbach Apiary. I'm changing it to simple "Hirschbach Apiary" and also moving it to the Sustainable Beekeeping section. Norm's site is under Sustainable Beekeeping as well.

    *Update*

Thank you all for the overwhelming support! Thanks to your contributions we are now offering over 200 quality bee-related resources and the contributions seem to be ever-increasing!

If you have a bee-related website of any sort, no matter how modest you are, please shoot it my way either via PM, e-mail, or, upon registering, at http://www.beethinking.com/Submit-a-Link . If you've got a news-worthy article you'd like to contribute, please use http://www.beethinking.com/Create-new-article .

I've dramatically altered the layout of the links pages making them far more intuitive and user friendly. They can now be sorted using numerous criteria, rated and they are much easier to read.

Thanks for your support and help,

    Matt
