My name is Shannon and I live in French Settlement Louisiana. I have posted a few times, but never introduced myself. I am just giddy about starting this endeavor! The pretty handy husband is on board for building, and I keep reading and changing the plans, HA! Right now, I am looking for a local provider for bees, and by the way should I be looking for mongrels if they are available? I understand from a couple of sources they are hardier. Any input is graciously accepted. Thanks for all the great information. And thanks for making newbees feel like they beelong.

You don't hear many say they are from French Settlement that often. I know exactly where you are. My wife is from Hammond. We are there often visit family. Anyway, good luck and welcome.
