I have asked those who have posted the 38degrees petition on Facebook to post their concerns on Bayer's Facebook page. Interestingly they have responded. Dave Jackson All the evidence I have looked at which is a lot indicates that sub lethal doses of neonicotinoids adversely affect, honey bees, bumblebees and other species. This is especially true if some fungicides are also involved. A truly honest and open system would mean organic produce not having to be labled and certified as organic but all crops grown using chemical fertilizers and or pesticides/herbicides having to be labled, "Grown using artificial chemicals." I will continue to do all I can to raise awareness of how your company is supplying poisons to an unsustainable agricultural system.

Bayer CropScience Hi Dave, sorry that I have to repeat the comment that I've just written to another visitor of our Facebook website. - To your question: We just seek clarity from the European General Court on reliability of regulatory frameworks. We believe the EU Commission's decision is disproportionate and unjustified. Neonicotinoids are safe when used responsibly and properly. Conserving wild bees
Research suggests that bumble bee boxes have a very low success rate in actually attracting bees into them. We find that if you create an environment where first of all you can attract mice inside, such as a pile of stones, a drystone wall, paving slabs with intentionally made cavities underneath, this will increase the success rate.
Most bumble bee species need a dry space about the size a football, with a narrow entrance tunnel approximately 2cm in diameter and 20 cm long. Most species nest underground along the base of a linear feature such as a hedge or wall. Sites need to be sheltered and out of direct sunlight.
