South Devon Friends of the Bees
Balanced Beekeeping Group
South Devon Friends of the Bees is a group of beekeepers with the common aim of wanting to look after our bees with a 'light-handed' approach to management and a preference for 'treatment-free' beekeeping, without the use of synthetic chemicals or medications. Anyone in the South Devon area with similar aims is welcome to attend meetings.
We meet in the evening on the first Monday of every month (except as notified). From March to September we have additional meetings at one of our apiaries. There is currently no membership fee, but a donation to Friends of the Bees is appreciated.

National Network
We are part of the Natural Beekeeping Network, which is an informal, international network of beekeepers who take a 'natural' approach to beekeeping, using top bar hives and management strategies that give priority to the bees' way of arranging their nests. Treatments against pests, if used at all, are as natural as possible and no synthetic chemicals are used.
